The most critical element of keeping carpet clean is regular vacuuming. According to IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification), approximately 79% of the soil in carpet is dry.
Using a quality vacuum with a beater brush can remove the majority of the dry soil, and it will be very hard to maintain the carpet without vacuuming on a regular basis. Use this rule of thumb for vacuuming frequency: high traffic – every day; medium traffic – 2 to 3 times a week; and low traffic – 1 to 2 times a week. To find a quality vacuum cleaner, use CRI’s (Carpet and Rug Institute) Seal of Approval list of approved vacuum cleaners, located on its website at www.carpet-rug.org. To be an approved vacuum, the product must meet the three following criteria: soil removal, dust containment, and carpet fiber retention.
Windsor's offers a a wide variety of CRI approved commercial vacuums--ranging from the Chariot iVac ATV 24 hard/soft floor stand-on commercial vacuum, the Sensor upright commercial vacuum and the NuWave wide-area commercial vacuum.
